where was this when i was a teen??

I just stumbled upon mochi magazine whose tagline is “empowering asian american teenage girls.” Since 2008, they’ve issued a quarterly magazine on various topics such as relationships, technology, body, and even mistakes. Their articles are written by teens, college students, and young professionals. This hodge podge of folks concerned with creating a support network for Asian American girls can also dialog anonymously in the online forum. While mochi does contain typical teenage girl concerns like hair cuts (with sample photos of Asian American women!) and sex myths,  they also have articles you may not find in Seventeen such as top 10 schools with APA programs (not saying I agree with their list) and sex trafficking in Southeast Asia. There is, of course, also a strong emphasis on entertainment and fashion.

It’s amazing to see what people can do when they recognize a need. Props. :)
