    Of all the organizations that hit me up for additional donations at year-end, one that I decided to help out was the Fistula Foundation. They sent a holiday card in the mail with a photo of the Ethiopian women at the new treatment center. The card included signatures from several women, as a reminder that there are real women whose lives are being changed because of the Fistula Foundation. They didn’t ask for a last minute gift. They only sent their thanks and wished me a happy, healthy, and joyful new year.

    Sometimes, you don’t have to ask.
